Self Discipline: The Discipline Of Hard Work

According to Brian Tracy, there are nine disciplines you can develop that will improve every area of your life. We have learned that every exercise of self-discipline strengthens every other discipline at the same time, just as every weakness in self-discipline weakens you in other disciplines as well.

Today, my articles on self-discipline continue as we focus on the Discipline Of Hard Work, with a helping hand from Brian Tracy.

I have always had tremendous admiration for those that believe in working hard and NOT hardly working.
unfortunately, it’s a rare trait. I’ve seen and worked with far more individuals that do not give it everything they have than the other way around.

We live in a world where a growing number of people need and expect instant gratification and they will take any shortcut they can to get the job done, even if it means negative long term consequences. This philosophy applies to all facets of life…and these tactics, even if they yield positive results initially will ususally lead to damaging long term results.

Even now, in Network marketing, we see all the opportunities promising overnight wealth and instant deposits into your bank account.
True monetary rewards are a result of hard work and perseverance every day over time and does not happen overnight. It requires a consistent and persistent effort and is a process.

The fact is, nothing replaces hard work, and there are no shortcuts in life.
In my career as a Manager, I have hired a number of employees and the most important trait I look for in those I hire in any capacity is their work ethic. I’ll take a hard worker who might need some training, over an “expert” who lacks a work ethic any day.
They will pay far more dividends in the long term every time.

Goal: Develop a reputation for being a hard, hard worker. “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” (Thomas Jefferson)

Now, let’s hear from Brian Tracy and how he describes this Discipline…

The average work week in America is 32 hours.
The average person wastes 50% of the workday in idle chit-chatting with co-workers, extended coffee breaks and luncheons, personal business, reading the newspaper and surfing the internet.
Rule: Work all the time you work!
Start one hour earlier, and immediately get to work.
Work harder, through your lunch hour, all day long; don’t waste time.
Work one hour later; be the last to leave. Use this time to wrap up all your work and plan your next day. Three extra hours of work will translate into 6-8 hours of productivity.
Ask; what is the most valuable use of my time right now? Whatever your answer, work on that every hour of every day.
If you get distracted, or interrupted, repeat over and over, “Back to work! Back to work! Back to work!”

Your First 30 Days in MLM and 2 Ways To Profit

So, you have joined a Network Marketing Company and you are excited about the potential to build a thriving business. Hopefully, you have a supportive team and Company and there is a plan in place that you can duplicate. If so, now is the perfect time to consider what ACTION you have to take during the first 30 days to develop an income.

In the Network Marketing Industry, there’s basically 2 ways to generate an income. These are:

1. Retail

2. Recruiting

Although there are a few steps involved with each process, we’re going to focus on what you should know to get a jump start and to turn a profit in the first 30 days to build your online business.

#1) Retail

When you attended your company meeting, or you were exposed to the opportunity, clearly there was something that made you a believer with your company and what they’ve got to offer.

Whether it was the comp plan, the products or maybe the culture, you found something that you felt you could tell others to help impact their lives like yours was impacted.

When you are sharing your products or services and gaining customers, your passion, belief and enthusiasm are critical. However, there are several additional elements you’ll want to consider before climbing to the top of the mountain to spread the word about your Company and their products with the world, which are:

What need does your product or service provide to your customer?
Who wants what you have to offer and are they ready to buy today?
Why do they want it? (What benefit can they get from owning and buying your product or service?)
Why must they purchase it from you?

We are often convinced about the benefits of our company products and the way everyone could benefit from them. But, you want to think about the needs of your potential customers and exactly how their quality of life will be improved from buying the product or service.

But, at the end of the day… in order to retail as much product as possible, you will have to implement the sales process, which is:

Create a rapport with all your potential consumers
Ask questions to establish a need
Listen
Share the way your product will solve their problem
Obtain the commitment and Close the sale

The more conversational that you are with all your prospects without trying to “push” the sale on them, the more you’ll find them closing themselves on the products by simply asking them the proper questions and allowing them the liberty to communicate and reveal to you just what their hot buttons are that you could sell them on!

#2) Recruiting

The actual leverage in building your organization is in developing a team of people which duplicate your efforts, while improving the volume and profits of your respective organization. This is truly the most feared part of the business because we sometimes associate our “new recruits” with family and friends that we assume could very well avoid us at the next family gathering.

Recruiting however, can be the most exciting part of the business when you “change your mindset” as to what recruiting actually is. Although you’ve got personal numbers and goals you would like to meet so that you can earn a nice paycheck, recruiting shouldn’t simply be thought of as a payday. It’s actually the opportunity to impact and alter someone’s life, while opening a door to help them to discover financial freedom including a totally new way of life.

There’s a whole lot more to joining a Network Marketing business than making money. Of course that’s a critical component of why people join, but additionally, there are the benefits of connecting with positive people, enhancing self improvement and learning your weaknesses and strengths. There may also be the possibility to go to places you never imagined, perhaps even potentially work for yourself fully, without ever returning to clocking in at a Job.

The minute you can learn to interpret the benefits of your brand-new Network Marketing business, you will see that individuals are anxious to go with you to the next meeting, in order to meet some of the inspiring leaders that you’ve been boasting about. It is very important to tell the stories of others that have experienced success, if you don’t yet have your own stories, yet. It is also important to edify the Leaders in your business.

To recruit effectively, share the many benefits of being connected, rather then forcing them in for a paycheck. Being connected to a team of like minded entrepreneurs working together for a common goal is very appealing to help attract prospects into your business.

What Tools Do You Need To SUCCEED In Network Marketing?

How many Marketing tools do you need to SUCCEED ?
What are those tools and how much are you spending every month?

As you probably know, there are many, many online marketing systems out there with new ones popping up all the time. The fact is most of these systems are good, they have some fantastic information.

I have used a number of systems and the better ones will offer you landing/lead capturing pages from which to choose, a personal branding page that allows your prospects to get to know YOU, an Opportunity” page, where you can promote your business or opportunities, targeted auto responders already prepared and set up for you,etc. Many have excellent training and will teach you how to generate leads for your business.

But, many times you will have to get these various system tools from a number of different resources and purchase them separately. You may have to go to Aweber for your auto-responder, Go To Webinar for you web conferencing needs, a company like Talk Fusion for your video e-mail needs, etc.

Plus, if you want to learn about lead generation, you may have to purchase a monthly subscription to a system like those of Jonathan Budd, Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, Mike Klingler or many others. They are ALL excellent systems, but at the end of the day…who are you branding and where are you sending the traffic you can now generate ?

The cost can be extensive…

Plus, the market is saturated with all these marketing systems….So…. I began looking for something that had just as much potential as these ‘Marketing systems’, but

• something that was unique, with the capacity to grow
• something I could get involved with early on, and position myself as a leader
• and the ability to build a large residual income

Ideally, what I was looking for was a platform from which other Network Marketers could benefit — something I could plug my existing network into which would enable them to earn an income quickly.

But, did it even exist?

• A system with a ‘top-class’ binary plan attached. (Binary plans are very powerful. I love them because they encourage team work, duplication and people helping each other to build their business)

• A fully duplicable system which people could just ‘plug into’ and earn money as quickly as possible. (The easier the system is to plug people into, the faster your organization will grow!)

• A system that I could stay with throughout my Network Marketing career… even if I left my current company, joined a different one, or my existing company went BUST. (This is critical)

• A product and company I could believe in 100%. (Yes, I’ve been with a few…many of them failed to deliver, over promise and under deliver)

• A system that had massive room for growth and is not at saturation point like many of the other systems out there. (It gets pretty tough when everyone’s selling the same system and are all fighting and scrapping over the leads and prospects who’ve already heard of the system they’re promoting)

• Something that my leaders and I could grow with rather than being at the bottom of the pile. It’s a great feeling when your whole organization just ‘explodes’ right in front of your eyes.

• A system that wasn’t going to try to sell my downline ‘other products and services’ and encourage me to split my focus by selling other affiliate programs to my downline… (yes, different programs are great, but can be incredibly distracting and overwhelming for your team.)

• A system that teaches and trains others how to use it automatically. This way, I could focus on my most productive work and leave the system to educate my TEAM without my input.

• The ability to be able to work as part of a strong team — hundreds of people all going in the same direction, all helping each other. (Successful Network Marketers love working as part of a team… it’s critical to the success of their downline.)

A system that would brand ME and my TEAM

Time Management: Accomplish More in Less Time

We all have the same 24 hours in each day. So, why are some people able to accomplish so much more in the same time frame ?

Are these people special, have some hidden talent or work harder ?

The secret to getting more done without necessarily working harder than others is proper time management. Many successful and skilled people struggle to manage their time and end up less productive than people with excellent time management skills.

Time management get more done with less effort.

You can also reduce the stress that goes along with having to finish multiple tasks at the same time.

My Top 4 Tips and Techniques..

1. Keep notes -

Some of the best at time management have a notebook available at all times. This way they can keep track of their day and the tasks they need to accomplish. A simple notebook can be a valuable tool to keep your day organized.

In our high tech world,you can also find many electronic organizers. These organizers help you schedule appointments and tasks and will help you to keep your appointments.

These are also good productivity tools. If you have an idea or a
thought, it is very easy to record into your organizer. This is great
if you have an idea that might actually make your work easier to
accomplish and make you more efficient.

* Note – many people think that they can commit to memory all the tasks, jobs and ideas they need to accomplish. Make sure everything is written down or entered into some sort of organizer. It is very easy to forget and not manage your time properly…so WRITE it down.

2. Divide & Conquer -

The best way to deal with one major problem or multiple problems is to cut up the problem into more manageable parts. If you feel that a problem is too big to handle, then it probably is. To better handle the pressure, deal with the individual parts accordingly.

One of the main reasons people are unable to handle large projects is their inability to divide the problem into modules that can be easily accomplished. After making the problem more manageable, you can then resolve the problem in a more efficient manner until the project is complete.

3. Delegate -

Another way to manage your time wisely would be to delegate some jobs to other people. Just make sure that everyone can work in a cooperative fashion and be on the same wavelength. This will take a lot of communication, skill, and effort. However, it is the only way to accomplish a project that may be too large for one person.

4. Prioritize -

To excel at Time management, you must be able to prioritize.

You must also understand your limitations, such as time, effort and finances. Time management is no easy task. A good time management plan will actually take time to develop and implement. However, be aware that even though you spend much time planning and managing your use of time, it will prove to be an effort that will pay dividends to you…

Because, good time management is the only way to successfully approach any project. This will also allow you to free up time for other leisure activities as you learn to make more productive use of your time.
