What Is Your Most Valuable Asset ?

The single most important thing to remember about any enterprise is that there are no results inside its walls. The result of a business is a satisfied customer.” ~ Peter Drucker

According to Dr. Theodore Leavitt, Dean of the Harvard Business School, the most valuable asset that a company has is its reputation. Dr. Leavitt defines reputation as “How you are known to your customers”.

In marketing and business, we refer to this as your “positioning” or “brand.” Your reputation is determined by the way that your customers and prospective customers talk about you and your company in the marketplace.

Customer service is those activities provided by a company’s employees that enhance the ability of a customer to realize the full potential value of a product or service before and after the sale is made. This will hopefully lead to customer satisfaction and repurchase.

The interaction anyone has at any level with your company, your employees,including you, gives a customer..whether current, potential,(or internal or external) an opportunity to make a judgment about you, your company, all companies like yours in the industry.

Whether you operate in the online or offline marketplace, one of your primary goals and that of your company should always be superior customer service, which will lead to loyal customers, prospects, downline, etc. and retention.

How do you want people to talk about your company ?

Do you want them to say that you have high quality products and services, excellent customer service, before and after the sale, that you are a high integrity company and that your people are some of the nicest people to deal with in the industry?

This brings us to the most important part of this lesson. It is the discovery that your personal reputation is your most valuable asset as well. Your personal reputation, the way that you are known to others and talked about by others when you are not there, is the most valuable asset you have in determining your success and happiness.

People who succeed over the long term are those who have excellent reputations. The people around them respect them and talk highly of them when they are not there. These people are known for certain qualities, especially integrity, honor, straight-forwardness, quality work and dependability.

So, your most valuable reputation is your character. It is your willingness and ability to make commitments and then to keep your word. It is your ability to deliver on your promises, to do what you say you will do, every time, without exception.

What could you begin doing, starting today, to make sure that people talk about you in a positive way after they have done business with you?

  • Do you have marketing geared toward your current customers?
  • Do you take the trouble to find out things they specifically and generally like and dislike?
  • Do you ask what you might do to serve them better?
  • Do you find out information about your customers?

Keep a list of their names and addresses so you can keep in constant communication with them. If you  have an online business, you can easily build a list with a Capture page, an opt-in form and an auto-responder.

Once you establish your reputation..instead of you looking to find new customers, they will be finding you. In addition to that, their lifetime value will be much greater by your building the greater value into your business. This happens just by catering to your current customers rather than doing the usual routine of chasing after new ones.

That is why you will never lack if you keep your customers coming back !

With the right customer service you can keep your customers for LIFE!

A happy customer is a loyal customer. Loyalty comes by your customers knowing you care about them, are actively educating them in the things they are interested in, and knowing you will continuously be able to meet their needs in the best way for them.

Whether you operate a business offline or online, you will need to exhibit these traits with your customers, your internal organization and online with your downline and your prospects in order to fulfill all of your goals and dreams..

How Do You Become The Leader That You Want To Be?

How to Become Strong Leader

A leader is not born.

A leader is created and the whole process starts inside the most dangerous place you’ll ever encounter – your own mind.

How can you become a strong leader who inspires others, drives people toward excellence, holds people accountable, and instills a sense of trust? Learning what makes a great leader is your first step.

One of the greatest challenges of leadership is actually defining what leadership is.

There are literally thousands of books, documents, and speakers that have each defined what their view of leadership is. There are examples for corporate leadership, civic leadership, home leadership, and more. When we attempt to break down leadership, we actually make it more complicated than it is.

When we break it down to the basics…leadership is an individual achieving results through people.

In many instances you are considered a leader if you hold a particular title, exhibit a certain set of personality traits, a particular skill set, or maybe you are considered to be a born leader.

Taken separately, none of these define leadership. Just because someone is in a leadership position, DO NOT assume they actually exercise leadership. In some cases the informal leader exhibits leadership even though they aren’t in a leadership role

Here are some things you can do to become the leader you’ve always wanted to be:

1. Control yourself. Every great leader in history has had to become a master of self-discipline and willpower in order to stay focused on the big picture. If you don’t have a goal or the drive to achieve it, you can’t lead others to attain theirs.

Follow through in everything you do. As challenging as it may be, you need to be disciplined enough to be where you need to be, when you need to be there, whether you want to or not. By being strong in your resolve and resisting temptation to give up, you are setting an example for others to live up to.

Choose your emotional response to a situation carefully. Sometimes you’ll need to practice the art of silencing your inner thoughts when they’re not appropriate in order to set a positive example.

2. Project your goals If the people you’re leading don’t completely understand the deeper meaning in their work, they won’t share your vision or work ethic. Every step of the way, communicate with your team to make sure they’re on the same wavelength and know what you expect of them.

Get your team involved in the planning process and the implementation of your ideas. This gives everyone a greater sense of ownership toward the end result.

3. Praise highly and criticize constructively. The way you praise and criticize others can make all the difference in being able to lead effectively.

• Make sure you publicly praise the people who do excellent work for you. You’ll give the person a sense of accomplishment and the drive to do even better.

• When someone does something wrong, offer constructive criticism and do it privately. Suggest solutions on how they can improve and take the time to answer any questions. They’ll accept your input more willingly if they know it’s done to help and not to harm.

4. Know your people. You can’t truly lead a group of people unless you truly understand their hopes, dreams, struggles, pains, and goals. All the good intentions in the world mean nothing unless you have a true sense of the people you’re working with.

Talk to your team and get to know them. Getting to know each other on a personal level will strengthen the bond between you. They’ll want to do better for you because you’re more than just a “boss.”

Be their leader, first, and their friend second. You’re their leader and that means that you have to make difficult decisions from time to time. These decisions cannot be affected by personal relationships.

5. Make the hard call. There are times when you have to bite the bullet and make some unpleasant decisions. Firing, demoting, and holding people accountable for their actions can be very hard at times. As a leader, it’s your responsibility to handle these matters.

Personal Self Development Basics and Personal Growth

Personal development has become increasingly popular in today’s hectic world for everything from career improvement and weight loss to public speaking. While the methods and tools used to achieve the desired personal development goals may vary from high priced seminars to moderately priced books and CD’s, there are a number of basic steps that can be taken to get you started on the right path to help you achieve success..

Identify the Cause

A good starting point with personal development is to look at how you got to where you are right now. For example, if your area of personal improvement relates to parenting,then look at what factors contributed to your issues to start with. Write down a detailed list of what you think contributed to the problem and then analyze how you can change each factor to get the result you desire.

Goal Setting

It is essential to have a clear goal in mind to achieve your own individual personal development requirements. Ask yourself exactly what it is that you wish to achieve and the more defined and clear your goal the more chance you will have of successfully reaching that goal.

Make a Plan

Once you have decided on your goal..formulate an action plan that details the steps you will take to reach your goal. Use the details you discovered when identifying the cause of the problem. Then, expand on these to include as much detail as possible on how you can achieve your personal development objective.

Focus and Commitment

Once you know your goal and have formulated your plan.. you need to focus on your goal and commit to the plan if you want to reach your desired results.

Set aside a certain amount of time each day to work on your plan and do not allow yourself to be distracted by daily events and follow through with your plan. Once you learn to work on your plan each day,it will become a habit and it will become much easier for you to accomplish.

Look for Inspiration

One of the best things you can do is to look for inspiration from friends, family or Associates that have faced and overcome the same personal development challenges. This WILL benefit you greatly. You can also receive tips and advice in the form of books, seminars, or courses.

The Importance Of Mentorship

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is simply the process of getting alongside people to support them in their personal, spiritual or professional development. The Mentoring process takes many forms and there are many types of mentors.

You can expect a mentor to be somewhere between a ‘trusted friend’, ‘a guide’ and a ‘counselor’.

Mentoring is a proven process and works well in most environments, such as school, professional, personal and spiritual. Most of the time when you speak to successful people, they will tell you that they have had mentors.

When you begin a mentoring program, you should know the following …

  • Why do you want a mentor ?
  • What do you plan to achieve through mentoring ?
  • How will you measure your success ?
  • What do you look for when choosing a mentor ?

    • someone who is further along the road to success than you are.
    • someone who operates from the same set of values.
    • someone you can relate well to.
    • someone who is readily available when you are.
    • What should your mentor do for you ?

    • should be available over the phone for a chat or face to face.

    • should help you to set goals that are attainable with deadlines.
    • should develop strategies to help you to achieve your goals.
    • should give constructive feedback.
    • should help you to overcome obstacles and help you to grow from failed attempts.
    • should be willing to share their resources with you and to help you develop your own.
    • should inspire, encourages and motivate you to be all that you can be.
      • Of course, some mentoring programs are better than others.

        Do your due diligence before choosing a mentoring program. Get to know your potential mentor. This can be personally or based on their body of work.

        Talk to other people who have been in their mentoring program. Find out if they can recommend the program. You want to make sure it is worth your time, money and effort. The best way to learn about a mentor and the benefits of their program is to find out what others have to say that have worked with the mentor.

        A good mentoring program will provide systematic training, accelerate the learning process and empower you to grow and develop.

        A good mentorship program and continuous learning can be a powerful tool and it will allow you to reach your true potential and to progress more quickly than you would on your own.

        Before you get started with the mentoring process, make sure you know what to expect, what is expected of you and how you will work together with your mentor.

        Mentoring is one of the most effective and rewarding ways for you to grow and develop and reach your full potential. It would be wise to find a mentor to help you take the steps to reach for your dreams.

      How is it that so many people struggle to meet goals, and then fail, while others succeed in becoming billionaires?       Are You A Born Leader ?

      People are not born with any particular skill. We are a blank canvas and everything else is learned. So, you have to become a leader.

      Leaders are made… not born. Leadership skills are acquired over a period of time based on several factors.

      Here are several factors that characterize a leader…

      1. Leaders come in all different shapes and sizes.

      It is interesting to study effective leaders. At first glance all leaders are different. They all have developed their own style over their careers based on their own personality and what works for them.

      2. A true leader accepts responsibility.

      Everything from how they speak to how they act is part of being responsible. It is easy to follow them because you know where they are going and know they will lead you as well.

      3. Leaders work at being leaders.

      They are always improving their skills and learning from the situations they are in. They study people and have learned how to effectively interact with them to get what they want. They understand the importance of continuous learning every day to be the best they can be.

      4. Leadership starts at the top…

      but the effective leader knows that to achieve success, he or she must develop a team environment. Leaders know they can be most effective when people are working together for one common goal. Sharing in leadership is part of this process.
      A good leader will create other leaders on their team.They will make everyone accountable for what they do, but they will determine success on the overall efforts of everyone.

      5. Situations call for different types of leadership.

      A capable leader with good skills is able to adapt to their surroundings and lead accordingly. Their are many scenarios where sometimes you need to give someone a kick in the rear and other times they need a pat on the back.

      6. Leaders are respected for what they have accomplished in the past.

      A real leader can speak from a position of practical experience and know they will be listened to because they have achieved success as a leader. A leader who has the respect of their team is able to command and demand more from his team of people than a leader who is not as respected.

      7. Leaders seek opinions and gather ideas before forming an action plan.

      Good leaders know that they cannot come up with every idea that will work. By allowing input from their team they are able to make a more responsible decision, while setting the stage for the development of future leaders.

      Leaders have skills and they use them to accomplish their goals every single day. You can become a good leader if you are willing to work hard and to learn the skills that are needed and refine those skills.
